Some summits are conquered solo. Others take a team. With update 4.8, ROUVY is betting on the second kind.
The headline feature is Club Challenges, a new team competition that sets each Club 50 handpicked real-world routes, from short rides to brutal climbs and long days in the saddle. The catch? Each rider can complete only four routes. That means at least 13 riders have to pull together to finish the lot, with Club rankings decided on combined times. Climbers take the mountains, endurance riders take the long days, and everyone plays a part. The first Club Challenge starts on 4 November.
It’s the latest step in ROUVY’s push into social riding. More than 1,600 Clubs and 230 Communities have already formed on the platform, with IRONMAN triathletes leading the charge. Version 4.8 also makes it easier to find your crew, with Club search by country, riding focus and W/kg.
There’s plenty for every rider too. A new Progress Report gathers your PRs, trophies and XP in one place, and expanded virtual shifting brings SRAM, Shimano and sequential-style options to compatible Zwift hardware. A mini-calendar shows your next ten days of training without leaving the app.
Indoor riding is better together. Here’s everything you need to know from ROUVY’s press release.
Building on the introduction of Clubs, Communities and In-Ride Chat earlier this year, the update marks the next step in ROUVY’s development of social cycling features. More than 1,600 Clubs and 230 Communities have already been established, with particularly strong activity among IRONMAN triathletes.
Cyclists ride for different reasons. While many value the freedom of riding alone, others enjoy the camaraderie and shared goals of riding together. With Clubs, Group Rides and now Club Challenges, ROUVY brings that sense of community indoors, helping riders stay connected to fellow cyclists throughout the year.

Club Challenges: a real team effort
Club Challenges are built around a simple principle: no single rider can complete the Challenge alone.
On a regular basis, Clubs can tackle 50 handpicked real-world routes, featuring some of ROUVY’s favourites and latest additions, from shorter rides to demanding climbs and longer distances. Each member can complete a maximum of four routes, meaning at least 13 active riders are needed to finish all 50. The first Club Challenge starts on 4 November.
The challenge encourages members to work as a team, dividing routes according to their strengths and availability. From climbers to endurance riders, everyone has a part to play in the Club’s overall result. Final Club rankings are calculated using the combined times from completed routes.
The competition follows three stages: preparation, riding and evaluation, allowing Clubs to plan their efforts, complete their routes and review their results.
Riders earn bonus XP for each Club Challenge route they complete, while Clubs that finish all 50 routes earn their members bonus Coins. Participants also begin collecting Club Points, a new measure that will allow users to gain points towards Club level progress.
Marek-Martin Matyska, VP of Product at ROUVY, comments: “With Club Challenges we wanted to bring a unique concept to indoor riding, where riders have to collaborate to conquer the challenge together in the fastest possible time – something that’s not on any other platform in the market.”
Finding and connecting with your Club
Other new features in ROUVY 4.8 also make it easier for cyclists to find Clubs that match their interests.
New search functionality allows riders to discover Clubs by country, riding focus and average power-to-weight ratio. Club owners can indicate when they are recruiting, while Club affiliations are now visible on rider profiles.
Additional social features simplify event organisation and communication. Club owners can invite members to events, notifications now link directly to relevant conversations, and routes and workouts can be shared through feed posts.

More control over every ride
Beyond its community features, ROUVY 4.8 introduces several improvements to the riding experience.
The new Progress Report brings together session achievements, including personal records, trophies, experience points and Challenge progress, giving riders a clearer overview of their accomplishments.

Expanded virtual shifting provides additional options for compatible Zwift hardware, including sequential, SRAM and Shimano-inspired shifting styles, alongside four gear-range presets for different terrain.
A new in-app mini-calendar displays the next ten days of planned routes, workouts, events and training sessions, allowing riders to check upcoming activities without leaving the app.
Together, these updates give cyclists more ways to connect, compete and make progress on ROUVY.
